WOODFORD COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) – A Kentucky man convicted of stabbing a six-year-old boy to death is out of prison.
Records with the Kentucky Department of Corrections list Ronald Exantus as out of custody.
Exantus was convicted of killing six-year-old Logan Tipton and stabbing his father and two sisters in Woodford County in 2015. He was sentenced to 20 years in prison.

2015
- December: Ronald Exantus, a dialysis nurse, travelled from Indianapolis to Versailles, where he committed a series of stabbings, which resulted in the death of 6-year-old Logan Tipton and injuries to his father and two sisters.
2018
- Ronald Exantus was found guilty but mentally ill for stabbing Logan Tipton’s father and sisters.
- Ronald Exantus was found not guilty by reason of insanity for the murder of Logan Tipton.
- Exantus was sentenced to 20 years in prison (10 years for each second-degree assault charge and one year for a fourth-degree assault, running concurrently).
- He became eligible for parole in December 2019 due to credit for time served.
- Logan’s family gave victim impact statements and marched to the courthouse, chanting “Justice for Logan.”
