ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — After more than a century in business, Pennsylvania-based retailer Boscov’s is preparing to open its first Rochester-area store with a three-day celebration highlighting the company’s family roots and commitment to community.
Founded in 1921 by an immigrant peddler in Reading, Pa., Boscov’s has grown into a family-owned chain now led by the third generation. Company President Jim Boscov said the values established by his grandfather: honesty, community involvement and customer relationships, remain central to its success today.
