Gretna man killed in Plaquemines Parish crash on LA 39

PLAQUEMINES PARISH, La. (WGNO) — A crash in Plaquemines Parish claimed the life of a Gretna man, according to Louisiana State Police.

Around 6:20 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 1, LSP troopers were called to the scene of single-vehicle crash on Louisiana Highway 39 near Water Plant Road.

The investigation revealed 56-year-old Ryan Riley was the passenger in a GMC Sierra headed south on the highway when for unknown reasons, the driver ran off the roadway, overturning the vehicle.

Troopers report Riley was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and suffered serious injuries. He was pronounced dead on the scene…
