EDGEWOOD, N.M. (KRQE) – An Edgewood man who killed another man on Christmas Eve in 2023 was sentenced for his voluntary manslaughter charge. Then 24-year-old Darius Welch killed 49- year-old Brian Enright at a home on Aspen Drive in Edgewood.
Court documents state Welch was on the phone with someone identified as his “Nana” when he reportedly punched Enright for “not making it to the toilet.” Welch was originally charged with second degree murder, but he pleaded guilty voluntary manslaughter. Welch was sentenced to six years behind bars…
