Stabbing suspect arrested after chase on South Academy

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A suspect in a stabbing was arrested after the deployment of a K9 and a chase on South Academy Boulevard near Hancock Expressway.

According to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), officers with the Homeless Outreach Team (HOT) were in the area of South Academy and Hancock looking into numerous complaints about illegal camping and trespassing. While in the area, the officers received information that a stabbing suspect from a previous case, identified as 38-year-old Jeffrey Wallace, was seen nearby.

HOT officers located Wallace on a bicycle, and while they were setting up containment and requesting K9 assistance, briefly lost sight of him. Witnesses then let the officers know that Wallace was still in the containment area…
