COLUMBIA, S.C. (WACH) — The FBI’s Columbia Field Office announced that 51 arrests were made over the summer as part of “Summer Heat,” a nationwide effort to combat violent crime.
From June 24 to September 20, all 55 FBI field offices participated in the operation, which focused on arresting violent offenders, dismantling gangs, rescuing child victims, and resolving cases in Indian Country.
“FBI Columbia is fully committed to crushing violent crime in our region to improve the quality of life for all South Carolinians,” said Kevin Moore, special agent in charge of the Columbia Field Office. “These results show that surging resources with our state and local law enforcement partners, as well as our other federal partners, can have a significant impact on reducing crime.”…
