Indiana’s Governor Mike Braun has been on a tour of gratitude, stopping by Indiana State Police Posts in Allen, Tippecanoe, and Marion counties. His visits were a nod to the law enforcement efforts that, according to the governor, have made significant strides in safeguarding Hoosier communities. The state’s official event page reports that Governor Braun took this occasion to personally thank the State Police.
On this statewide safety campaign, it’s reported that the Indiana State police have managed to clear the streets with over 51 pounds of fentanyl and in excess of 64,000 fentanyl pills. Governor Mike Braun said in a statement, “The State of Indiana is proud of our police officers, and we appreciate the work they’re doing to remove deadly fentanyl and illegal firearms from our streets, stop drunk driving fatalities, and put criminals who threaten Hoosiers’ lives in prison.” Correlated to these efforts, the state has seen a drop in collision fatalities due to drunk driving by 11.7% compared to last year.
Under initiative Operation Guardian Angel, which focuses on the protection of children from abuse and predation, there have been 48 arrests since August. These arrests include those directly involved in criminal offenses against children.
