LMPD Chief Paul Humphrey marks one year in charge

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — After one year at the helm and with crime data improving, Paul Humphrey, chief of police of the Louisville Metro Police Department, said now is not the time to let up.

“This is the point as a command staff, as a department, as an agency we need to really push it even harder,” Humphrey said.

Humphrey may have one year under his belt as LMPD’s chief, but he has been with the department for nearly 20 years. Compared to a year ago, crime stats show significant drops in homicides and other violent crimes…
