SOUTHPORT, N.C. — The Southport community continues to mourn the victims of last week’s shooting. Among them is 64-year-old Joy Rogers, remembered by neighbors as a woman of faith, kindness and laughter.
A memorial filled with flowers and a handwritten sign sits outside the neighborhood where Rogers lived. A friend says she became woven into the community almost right away.
