A unique new cafe and market is set to open this month! Odd Mama’s Vintage Cafe will officially open its doors to customers on Monday, October 6th!
About Odd Mama’s
If the name Odd Mama’s sounds familiar, it’s because it’s already an existing business! Odd Mama’s is a vintage and collectables shop that’s located at 1216 2nd Ave SE in Cedar Rapids. It’s owned by Sierra Damico, and they host both indoor and outdoor markets throughout the year. Their final outdoor market of the year will be a Halloween-themed market at their 2nd Ave location on Saturday, October 18th from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Odd Mama’s Vintage Cafe
Sierra Damico’s latest venture is Odd Mama’s Vintage Cafe, a new eatery that’s taking over a portion of the old Chrome Horse building in the NewBo District. We found out back in August that the former restaurant at 1201 3rd Street SE, which closed in in the fall of 2024, is being split into two different businesses. The other is called Rhapsody, and all we know about it so far is that it will be “a separate restaurant concept, in partnership with the café’s general manager and executive chef,” according to the Cedar Rapids Gazette.
A story from KCRG reports that Odd Mama’s Vintage Cafe will have seating for almost 100 customers and offer a variety of breakfast and lunch items. The menu consists of baked goods, soup, sandwiches, pancakes, biscuits & gravy, coffee, cocktails, specialty juices, and more.
In addition to food and drinks, the cafe will also serve as a shop, featuring merchandise from around 15 local artists and vendors.
Grand Opening
The official grand opening for Odd Mama’s Vintage Cafe is Monday, October 6th beginning at 7 a.m. The cafe’s regular hours will be 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. For the latest updates from the new business, you can follow the official Facebook page HERE.
