EL PASO, TEXAS (KFOX14/CBS4) — A jury trial is set to begin today for Ramon Parada, a Socorro man charged with intoxication manslaughter following a crash that killed his passenger last year. Jury selection is expected to start this morning at the El Paso County Courthouse.
Investigators allege that Parada was driving under the influence near Cesar Chavez Highway and South Zaragoza Road in June 2024 when he crashed into a metal pole, resulting in the death of his passenger, 25-year-old Rey Mendez.
