Appleton Police Department: Woman breaks probation, arrested for theft at local gas station

APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) – One woman in Appleton is now in custody for recently breaking her probation after allegedly stealing several food items from a local gas station.

According to a release from the Appleton Police Department, during the time span from September 24 through October 1, officers responded to a gas station on the city’s north side after employees reported a possible theft.

Employees told police that a woman had come into the gas station asking about using reward points to receive free items like a free cheeseburger and chicken sandwich. Employees let the woman know that she could use her rewards points to get the items she had asked about.

Officers say the woman then started to walk around the store, grabbing multiple food items that were not included in the rewards promotion, and then reportedly putting several food items in her purse…
