Mayor’s alarm after ICE raid sees agents seize roofing crew from St. Paul site

Several men who comprised a roofing crew were arrested in St. Paul’s North End neighborhood Thursday morning by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents.

St. Paul Mayor Melvin Carter issued a statement Thursday night, saying he’s “deeply concerned” about the arrest at a job site by agents who allegedly “refused to identify themselves.”

“This kind of secretive, fear-driven enforcement has become a hallmark of the president’s approach—and it has no place in our city or our country,” he said…
