EL DORADO, Kan. (KSNW) — It’s day two of the government shutdown, causing uncertainty for the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program. Several Kansas counties say their funding will last just under two weeks, so the clock is ticking for recipients.
Butler County only has about ten days of funding left, so food assistance and other services could be suspended. If they are, the health department there says women and children on the program would almost instantly feel the impact.
