The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s North Tryon Division recently took to Sugar Creek Road in a bid to crack down on traffic violations. In what they have described as a highly successful saturation patrol operation, their efforts have resulted in multiple citations and arrests, as disclosed in a recent social media post by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
During the operation, a notable 47 traffic stops were made, leading to a juvenile arrest and the issuance of 64 citations. Additional outcomes included five citizen contacts, two field interviews, four zone checks, two arrests, and the confiscation of one illegal firearm. Notably, in their statement, the department emphasized proactive measures to enhance overall safety on the road.
Breaking down the citations further, officers from the Motors Unit issued 8 for speeding and 3 for driving with a revoked license. There were 12 citations for operating without a valid license and a total of 19 registration violations. Seatbelt compliance was also enforced, resulting in 8 citations, alongside 1 for a child safety seat violation. Other violations included 4 for insurance issues, 3 related to window tints, and 2 regarding tag covers.
