RUSSELL COUNTY, Ala. (WRBL) — A big win for Russell County High School and its students, especially those with a passion for food.
The school’s culinary arts teacher, Chef Mark Thorne, was awarded $8,000 in grant funding to help advance the school’s culinary career technical education program.
The money comes from Alabama ProStart, a nationwide program for high schools that develops students into future food service industry leaders.
The grant will fund professional development for Thorne, cover the costs of textbooks and exams for students, and support the planned launch of a student-run “Class Café.”…
