Chester County SPCA takes in nearly 100 rescued animals from Delaware

WEST GOSHEN — Dozens of animals that were found in a townhome in Delaware have been taken in by the Brandywine Valley SPCA, the Chester County-based animal shelter that is used by the Delaware Animal Services.

Announcement of the SPCA’s role in the rescue came in an email on Wednesday from Sara Smith, the organization’s spokeswoman.

“We have taken in nearly 100 animals at once from a small home in New Castle County,” the announcement read. “The home was filled with animals living in filthy and cramped conditions. Our team assisted officers from the Office of Animal Welfare’s (OAW) Delaware Animal Services as they seized dogs, cats, kittens and other small animals from the property and moved them to our Animal Rescue Center in Georgetown…
