MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — A gas leak prompted authorities to evacuate a strip mall near the Coastal Grand Mall in Myrtle Beach on Friday, according to Myrtle Beach Fire Capt. Jonathan Evans.
The Myrtle Beach Fire Department responded at about 9:15 a.m. after a contractor hit a gas line outside the building along Coastal Grand Circle, Evans said. The leak was in the area of a Chipotle restaurant, an Aspen Dental office and a Mattress Firm store.
The strip mall building was evacuated as a precaution, and parts of the Coastal Grand Mall were closed because of the leak, officials said…
