GALLATIN, Tenn. (WKRN) — A Nashville firefighter ended up in jail following a confrontation with a Gallatin police officer during a Monday morning traffic stop.
Just before 8 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 29, a Gallatin Police Department officer watched a pickup truck driving in the wrong lane of traffic while turning onto another road.
According to Capt. Lamar Ballard, the driver — later identified as Deanton D. Gipson, a member of the Nashville Fire Department — was in the turning lane, two or three cars deep. Ballard said Gipson became impatient, so rather than wait for the cars in front of him to turn, he drove out of the turn lane and turned left onto the road while in the oncoming lane of traffic…
