A contractor has been banned from seeking work in The Villages for five years over poor performance with regard to ponds.
Crosscreek Environmental Inc. has been served with the five-year suspension that will extend through Sept. 30, 2030.
“Pursuant to this sanction, the District will not solicit offers from, award contracts or purchase orders to, or consent to subcontracts with Crosscreek Environmental, Inc. or any of its subsidiaries during this suspension period,” according to a memo from the District Government.
Two years ago, Crosscreek was hailed as the best possible option when officials balked at a huge price increase demanded by its then-contractor, Solitude Lake Management LLC.
