16-year-old fighting for his life after stolen Kia crashes near Rochester middle school

Rochester, N.Y. (WHAM) — Police said a 16-year-old boy from Rochester remained in critical condition Thursday after he was behind the wheel of a stolen Kia that collided with another vehicle in a head-on crash Wednesday on the city’s west side.

Police said they received 911 calls about someone driving a Kia Sportage recklessly on the field of Loretta Johnson Middle School on Genesee Street.

“What we learned is that a stolen Kia had been driving recklessly on the school grounds, and when it left the school grounds of 200 Genesee Street out the back side of it, at some point it began to go the wrong way on Epworth Street,” said Captain Greg Bello from the Rochester Police Department…
