Texas Instruments lays off 163 North Texas employees

DALLAS — Texas Instruments, which employs over 34,000 people, will lay off 163 of its North Texas employees, according to a notice filed with the Texas Workforce Commission.

The Dallas-based company will lay off the workers Dec. 12, according to the notice.

In 2020, Texas Instruments announced it would close two North Texas fabrication plants in Sherman and Dallas, the Dallas Business Journal reported.
