Missouri grand jury indicts four in Medicaid fraud totaling $230,000

Missouri Attorney General Catherine Hanaway announced that a Cole County grand jury has returned indictments in four separate Medicaid fraud cases in the St. Louis area, alleging schemes that collectively defrauded the program of more than $230,000. The cases, brought by the Office’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit, reflect ongoing efforts to protect taxpayer dollars and preserve the integrity of Missouri’s Medicaid system.

“Medicaid fraud is stealing taxpayer resources and victimizing at-risk Missourians,” Hanaway said in a statement. “These indictments show that our Office will not hesitate to hold accountable those who exploit the system for personal gain, whether it be individuals or companies entrusted with caring for patients.”
