Halloween lovers can break out their costumes early next weekend for the “Witches and Warlocks Paddle” at the Waneka Lake Boathouse in Lafayette.
The Lafayette Recreation Department will host the event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, with paddleboat, kayak, canoe and stand-up paddleboard rentals available. Rentals at 30-minute increments will cost $5 or $10, depending on the type of watercraft. Participants must be at least 16 years old to rent independently; younger participants can ride along with an adult. Only Lafayette-owned rental boats are permitted on Waneka Lake in order to “safeguard the lake ecosystem,” a city spokesperson said.
Games and “spooky treats” will also be provided by Recreation Department staff. No reservations are required…
