LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Boulder City, a key stop for visitors heading to Lake Mead or Hoover Dam, faces potential economic challenges due to a government shutdown.
The CEO of the city’s Chamber of Commerce compared the situation to the pandemic, highlighting community efforts to maintain national parks during that time. “This community kinda came together, and we formed some different small volunteer groups who went out and took out the trash. They monitored and helped maintain what was going on out in those national parks where they could just as volunteers,” said the CEO. “There always seems to be a coming together where you have those types of situations, but yes, of course, when anything is not fully functioning, there’s always going to be some repercussions.”
