SWANNANOA, N.C. (WLOS) — North Carolina Gov. Josh Stein has signed a state appropriation bill that allocates $1.5 million in post-Helene relief funding for Warren Wilson College, the school announced.
When Hurricane Helene hit western North Carolina on Sept. 27, 2024, it devastated Swannanoa, where Warren Wilson College is located. The storm inflicted an estimated $12 million in damages on the liberal arts college.
