PASCO COUNTY: Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest, Deputy Injured

HOLIDAY, FLa.- A 39-year-old Holiday man was arrested following a traffic stop that turned violent on Grand Boulevard in Holiday.

Deputies say Eric Wright was stopped for a seatbelt violation when he exited his vehicle and attempted to walk away. The deputy gave verbal commands and pursued on foot. During the struggle, Wright fought with the deputy, took control of the deputy’s Taser, and then threw it aside. The deputy sustained a broken finger in the altercation.

Wright was also seen discarding a baggie onto the roof of a convenience store. The bag was later recovered and found to contain 13 grams of hydromorphone (Dilaudid) pills…
