It’s getting to be that time of year when the leaves have begun to change, even if the temperatures haven’t yet matched that feeling in the air. However, Michigan is going to be getting its holiday glow-up relatively soon.
The State’s Christmas tree is officially on its way to the Capitol City from Northern Michigan. It is a towering 68-foot spruce from Sault Ste. Marie has been picked to anchor the holiday season here in Michigan.
The tree does have a backstory to it as well. It was donated on behalf of Linda Reid, who did this in tribute to her Grandparents, Lawrence and Nettie Richey.

Crews will carefully harvest the spruce on Thursday, October 30, and from there it will make the long trek down I-75 with the help of the Michigan Association of Timbermen, the Great Lakes Timber Professionals Association, as well as the state’s Christmas tree team…
