BEREA, Ky. (FOX 56) — Police shared on Friday that a student has been charged following a swatting call in mid-September at Madison Southern High School.

According to the Berea Police Department, it was made aware of the active shooter threat around 11:40 a.m. on Sept. 11. The high school, Foley Middle, and Shannon Johnson Elementary were then put on lockdown.
Officials said several local, state, and federal authorities responded to the high school for the reported active shooter situation.

In coordination with district staff, investigators reportedly found “no active threat to the safety of students.” Police previously shared that the lockdown was lifted around 12:30 p.m.
