Gourmet Sandwich Shop With Cult Following to Open in Coconut Grove

Coconut Grove is about to get a new place for cheese, wine, and sandwiches – and, oddly enough, condo floor plans.

Chèvre, the Coral Way sandwich shop known for selling its stacked creations built with imported meats and French butter, is teaming up with the developers of the Ziggurat project on Grand Avenue. The menu will draw from Chèvre’s greatest hits: the “La Italiana,” featuring mortadella, whipped ricotta, and truffled honey; “El Padron,” paired with Ibérico ham and Manchego; the vegetarian namesake, stuffed with goat cheese and artichokes; and its self-described “world famous” grilled cheese. Regulars will tell you not to skip the burnt Basque cheesecake, which also pops up at other restaurants and shops across town…
