STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — In celebration of the opening of their fourth Staten Island ShopRite store, the Mannix family donated $26,000 in gift cards this week to local food pantries and community organizations to help combat food insecurity.
A check was presented to several organizations during an event at the new store, located at 150 Greaves Lane in Evergreen Plaza, on Oct. 1. Agencies that will benefit from the donation include: The Salvation Army; St. Ann’s R.C. Church; The Staten Island Giving Circle; Community Health Action of Staten Island; New Direction Services; South Shore Community Food Pantry; Great Kills Friendship Club; Our Lady of Good Counsel; Lou’s Helping Hand; St. Edward’s; Oakwood Heights Community Church; Feeding with TLC; and Meals on Wheels.
