CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – Alliant Energy announced in a letter that it is “deprioritizing” the Fairfax site in its evaluation for a proposed power plant following push back from the Eastern Iowa Airport and city officials.
In a letter sent to the Fairfax City Council, Alliant Energy confirmed it is now evaluating other possible sites for a new power plant.
“We appreciate the invitation to participate in the townhall series regarding our proposed combined cycle project. While Alliant Energy has not selected a site for the proposed project, we are deprioritizing the original Fairfax location at this time. …
