Del City police came out in support on Friday of Chief Loyd Berger, who was placed on administrative leave this week. The city’s Mayor Floyd Eason confirmed Berger’s leave stemmed from a dispute at a recent budget meeting. Eason said the chief’s public display during a budget meeting is now under investigation by a third party.
Eason said he was not at the budget meeting last week but said the city manager, assistant city manager and other city officials were there.
“I have no first-hand other than the chief acted in a manner unbecoming of a police officer,” said Eason. “The claim was we were decimating the police department.”…
