LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – It was a day of fun out at the South Plains Mall, but it came with an important safety reminder.
The 5-5-5 Move Over, Slow Down rally was out in the mall’s parking lot Saturday morning, a chance for Lubbock families to meet the first responders and road workers who keep the Hub City safe and moving every day.
The 5-5-5 initiative was created in 2020, after firefighter Eric Hill was killed in a crash on I-27, along with police officer Nicholas Reyna. Firefighter Matt Dawson died in 2023 from health complications caused by the crash…
