San Antonio teacher gets a year of free Dunkin’ coffee as award finalist

One San Antonio middle school teacher will have no trouble staying caffeinated during long school days this year.

Carlos Perez, a social studies teacher at Judith A. Resnik Middle School, was awarded free coffee for a year from Dunkin’ Friday after being named a finalist for a statewide teaching award.

Perez teachers sixth- and seventh-grade social studies and reading language arts in the dual language program at the Southwest Independent School District school. At the same time, he is pursuing a doctorate in education at the University of Texas at San Antonio, where his research focuses on improving instruction for bilingual students and those with dyslexia…
