CSPD: Woman shot in abdomen at business on North Union

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Officers responded to reports of a shooting in which one woman was injured at a business on North Union Boulevard, near Constitution Avenue, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD).

According to CSPD, around 1 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 4, when officers arrived at the scene in the 2400 block of North Union Boulevard, they found a woman who had been shot in the abdomen. She was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening wounds and later released. Police received a description of the shooter and his vehicle and learned that he had driven south.

Around 1:20 a.m., officers found the suspect in the vehicle, near East Pikes Peak Avenue and South Roosevelt Street, and tried to pull him over, but he began to speed away. Officers conducted a PIT maneuver and stopped the vehicle in the 100 block of South Roosevelt Street. The suspect, identified as 37-year-old Steven M. Vigil, was taken into custody…
