SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – The South Dakota Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is raising concerns about Operation Prairie Thunder and immigration arrests in South Dakota.

Hugo Barron, a member of the SDHCC, spoke with KELOLAND’s Dan Santella for Inside KELOLAND about canceling the Latino Festival and Parade this year due to increased tensions with Immigration Customs and Enforcement.
“It’s full of cultural and like dancing and folkloric dancers and volunteers,” Barron said. “The decision was made, it was difficult, but it was made with safety and the wellbeing in mind of our Latinos residents”
