Trial to begin for man accused of hitting UAlbany student with dirt bike

ALBANY, N.Y. (WNYT) The trial begins Monday for the Watervliet man accused of striking a UAlbany student with his dirt bike and leaving the scene.

Austin Breyette is charged with second-degree assault and leaving the scene of a personal injury accident. Investigators said Breyette was weaving in and out of traffic on Hudson Avenue just after midnight on April 27, 2024.

He struck and seriously injured Alexa Kropf. She had a shattered pelvis and brain injuries that required emergency surgery…
