PORT ST. LUCIE, FL – A 38-year-old North Carolina man wanted for a double homicide was arrested early Friday in Florida after police tracked him across state lines, authorities said.
Arrest in Port St. Lucie
According to the Port St. Lucie Police Department, officers received an alert around 1:30 a.m. that a double murder suspect out of Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, was driving a black Nissan Altima near Southeast Port St. Lucie Boulevard and Southeast Bayshore Boulevard.
Officers quickly located the car and arrested the driver, identified as Alvaro Luis Ozuna Sierra, without incident at an intersection.
Tied to North Carolina Double Homicide
Ozuna Sierra was wanted in connection with the shooting deaths of two people in northwest Charlotte, North Carolina, on Thursday, according to NBC affiliate WCNC.
Authorities confirmed that Ozuna Sierra was the suspect in both killings and had been charged with two counts of first-degree murder.
Vehicle Search and Evidence
