Gladys’ House ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate facility for young mothers

Rochester, N.Y. — Victorious Living Housing is hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Saturday to celebrate the grand opening of Gladys’ House, a space designed to serve and uplift homeless mothers between 16 and 25 years old.

The ceremony will feature local officials and members of the community with opportunities to tour the facility and learn more about the services Gladys’ House offers.

“It was named after my mother who was very supportive of me during my pregnancy as a young girl,” said Dr. Barbara JP Thomas, founder of Gladys’ House. “Just the compassion that my mother showed me, I want to able to show that compassion to the ones who are young and lost, and you know, can’t find their way. I want to let them know that there’s a place where they can come to and get those supportive services and also feel the love.”…
