CLOVERDALE, CA — “On September 30, 2025, at approximately 9:35 a.m., a Cloverdale Police Department sergeant received a phone call from two City of Cloverdale Public Works employees reporting suspicious activity. The employees stated they had observed two subjects running from a residential neighborhood before entering a waiting black SUV, which fled the area at a high rate of speed. One of the subjects was seen wearing a face mask.
Officers immediately responded to the area but did not locate any obvious signs of a crime. A short time later, the sergeant was advised that the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office was following a vehicle matching the description provided. During this time, a Cloverdale officer also reported that a “Be On the Lookout” (BOLO) notice had been issued the previous day by Mendocino County authorities for a similar vehicle suspected of involvement in a burglary.
The vehicle’s license plate was entered into the FLOCK camera system, which confirmed a positive match to the SUV seen in Cloverdale. Sonoma County Sheriff’s Dispatch was notified of the circumstances reported by the Public Works employees.
