Community unites for Dash 4 Domestic Violence Awareness 5K in Lawrenceville

LAWRENCEVILLE – Community members gathered at Alexander Park on Saturday, Oct. 4, to take part in the Dash 4 Domestic Violence Awareness 5K, hosted by the Gwinnett County Solicitor General’s Office.

The event aimed to raise awareness about domestic violence and generate support for survivors through education, outreach, and community engagement. Residents participated by walking, jogging or running the 5K route, while others contributed by sponsoring the event or volunteering.

Proceeds from the race will support three local organizations that provide critical services to survivors of domestic violence: Mosaic Georgia, Partnership Against Domestic Violence, and Ahimsa House. These nonprofits offer shelter, legal advocacy, counseling, and public education programs.

“This is our third annual Dash for Domestic Violence Awareness 5K, and it’s grown,” said Solicitor General Lisamarie N. Bristol. “I’m excited about the work we’re doing in the community to bring resources and awareness to the issue. Supporting survivors is a priority for my administration, and we’re going to continue doing the work.”…
