Former sheriff accused of spending $17,000 in taxpayer money on cigarettes, App Store games and Chick-fil-a

SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WHNS/Gray News) — A former sheriff allegedly spent over $17,000 in taxpayer money on unauthorized purchases, according to newly released documents from the State Ethics Commission in South Carolina.

Spartanburg County Sheriff Chuck Wright is facing 60 state ethics charges in addition to federal charges.
