AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — Homeless Heroes of Amarillo announced that this year’s Gunny’s Gala is scheduled at 6 p.m. on Oct. 18 at Arts in Sunset. Officials said tickets are selling quickly, with fewer than 100 tickets remaining.
According to Homeless Heroes, wounded Marine veteran and national advocate Staff Sergeant John P. Jones, USMC (Ret.), will share his story of resilience and service as the featured guest speaker at this year’s gala.
Center City: Jazztober’s 13th season
The event will include: a live band performance, dinner service, cocktail hour, VIP reception, Live auction, and interactive art.
Jones, who lost both legs after being wounded in Iraq in 2005, has since dedicated his life to helping others. He has led national nonprofits supporting veterans, advocated for wounded service members, and appeared in HBO’s “Alive Day Memories” and the upcoming film “Down the Arm of God.”…
