Northeast Wisconsin experienced record highs on Friday and Saturday

(WFRV)- When the calendar turned over to fall on the autumnal equinox on September 22nd, did anyone have record breaking temperatures for early October on their bingo cards? The answer is probably an emphatic ‘no’.

Friday saw highs reach the mid and upper 80s across northeast Wisconsin, even a degree off of 90 in Wautoma. Here is a list of all the records broke in northeast Wisconsin on Friday:

  • Green Bay: 88°F, previous record was 86°F set back in 2005 and 2023
  • Appleton: 88°F, previous record was 86°F set back in 2005
  • Fond Du Lac: 88°F, previous record was 86°F set back in 2005 and 2023
  • Oshkosh tied the record at 87°F which was previously record was set back in 2005.
  • Sturgeon Bay: 87°F, previous record was 85°F set back in 1953
  • Manitowoc: 86°F, previous record was 80°F set back in 1953

Fun fact, we have never hit 90 in the month of October in Green Bay, but a few times, we have come very close to achieving that.

The high of 88 degrees in Green Bay on Friday tied a record for the warmest temperature recorded in the month of October, rivaling October 1st, 1963 and October 6th, 2023. Another fun fact, we have never hit 90 in October.

If we one day wasn’t enough, another day of record high temperatures occurred across the area on Saturday and the records were absolutely smashed. Check them out:
