Fall cold front brings chances for storms and temperatures up to 20 degrees cooler than this weekend.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Our much anticipated chances for wet weather and cooler, more fall-like temperatures, begins tomorrow. How much do we need the rain? As of September 1st, we are missing more than 3″ of rain. It gets worse if you include August, more than 6.5″ of rain missing! For every day purposes, we will be trading sunglasses for umbrellas and finally able to wear something besides summer clothing.

We’ve been watching this for nearly a week! Here’s how it plays out.

A slow moving cold front, sliding southeast from Nebraska, sparks storms across northeast Kansas and northwest Missouri tonight. The majority of the showers remain locked in place even through Monday. The cold front does drag a 30% chance for storms and showers across Kansas City from morning into the afternoon. The rain and clouds create a large temperature spread across our KCTV5 viewing area from upper 60s north to middle 80s south.

Another line of showers and storms develops across northeast Kansas and northwest Missouri Monday night. This line remains intact as it travels south, impacting Kansas City during the morning commute Tuesday.
