ST. CLOUD, Minn. (USF) – The University of Sioux Falls Volleyball team opened strong to take the first set against nationally ranked No. 13 St. Cloud State, but the Huskies rebounded to win the next three in a 3-1 decision (25-20, 18-25, 20-25, 19-25) Saturday afternoon inside Halenbeck Hall.With the result, the Cougars move to 9-6 overall and 4-3 in NSIC play, while St. Cloud State improved to 12-3 (7-0 NSIC).
Match Summary
USF set the tone early, capitalizing on Husky miscues and a balanced offensive rhythm to grab the opening frame 25-20. Behind six combined kills from Sadie Voss and Courtney Holsteen, the Cougars held SCSU to just .051 hitting while posting four team blocks in the first set.
The Huskies regrouped in the second and third sets with aggressive serving—totaling 13 aces in the match—to swing momentum. Despite extended rallies and timely kills from Voss and Aubrey Gates, Sioux Falls couldn’t fully slow the Husky attack down the stretch. USF continued to battle late in the fourth, trading points deep into the set before St. Cloud secured the 25-19 clincher.
