Arrest made in fatal Glenmont motorcycle crash in July

GLENMONT, N.Y. (NEWS10) — An arrest has been made in connection to a Glenmont motorcycle crash that killed a Schenectady man in July, according to the Bethlehem Police Department. Jacob Snide, 33, of Ravena faces several felony charges.

The crash occurred on Route 9W in the area of Corning Hill Road on July 14 when a southbound vehicle driven by Snide crossed over the center road lines and hit a northbound motorcycle. The operator of the motorcycle, identified as 32-year-old Patrick Lafortune Jr., died as a result of the incident.

Snide was arrested on Sunday after being indicted by an Albany County Grand Jury, police said. He has reportedly been charged with second-degree manslaughter, second-degree assault and reckless driving.
