Four cats die during weekend house fire: Erie Fire Department

(WJET/WFXP) – One Erie resident lost several pets during a house fire over the weekend.

On Sunday, October 5, around 1:45 p.m., members of the Erie Fire Department were dispatched to a residential fire on Myrtle Street.

According to a Facebook post, there was heavy smoke showing when firefighters arrived.

The occupant of the house was able to make it out before Erie Fire Department crews arrived on scene, but informed firefighters that five cats were still inside.
