Driver ticketed after crash at busy Ontario County intersection

A Rochester woman was ticketed Saturday afternoon after a two-vehicle crash sent two people to the hospital in Ontario County.

Deputies say 37-year-old Emily Payton ran a red light at the intersection of State Route 5 & 20 and County Road 37, striking a pickup truck just after 2 p.m. on October 5.

Payton was driving a 2013 Toyota Prius southbound when she entered the intersection against the signal and collided with a 2012 Chevrolet pickup driven by 59-year-old Gerald Wiedemann of Bloomfield.

Payton suffered a small cut to the back of her head, and her passenger, 35-year-old Devin Robinson, was believed to have sustained a concussion. Both were taken by Honeoye Ambulance to Strong Memorial Hospital for evaluation…
